With its location in the triangle between Kassel, Frankfurt and Würzburg, the Fulda region has the optimal location. The ICE train station in Fulda and several highways connect eastern Hesse with the rest of Germany, which also likes to come to us: After all, we are located in a popular vacation area. And if people in our home region ever feel the urge to travel, Frankfurt Airport opens the door to the whole world for them.

Hessischer Rundfunk called us a "paradise for employees" and for the portal Finanzen 100, Fulda was the second most attractive city in Germany in 2017. Possible reasons: We offer a balanced mix of secure jobs, accomplished educational institutions, medical care, a wide range of leisure activities and affordable prices.

Because it simply works

Fulda has been one of the most successful counties for decades. This is thanks to a long period of political stability in which the future can be shaped in a targeted manner. Fulda University of Applied Sciences has eight departments, 9,600 students and 600 employees. The campus in the city area provides practical education with modern equipment and stands for authoritative research in its departments. Vocational schools and universities of cooperative education provide practical theory in a wide-ranging portfolio of subject areas. Practical learning is also possible at the Fulda Environmental Center, the first of its kind in Germany in 1994, or in the training construction hall of the Eastern Hesse Training Center, which is operated by the district craftsmen's association. Through elementary school, special school and runway, a working school with training preparation, being different loses its meaning in the region.

Where work is fun

There are many theories as to why our region has had the lowest unemployment rate in Hesse for years - it may be due to the balanced relationship between tradition and innovation or our successful mix of industries with medium-sized companies, craft businesses, industry and global players. Perhaps we are also talented in the area of training and thus facilitate the supply of skilled workers? In any case, one thing is certain: Working in the Fulda region is fun.

If you come from a metropolis and take an interested look at eastern Hesse, you will quickly notice that we can offer you an extremely attractive environment here. Sure, the wage level here is lower than in the Rhine-Main region, for example, but that also applies to the prices for housing and living.
