In addition, everywhere you go you will find hosts with "Rhön charm". Stress-free meetings, sustainable sleep, enjoy culture and celebrate festivals - our region is made for it.

Under the following links you will find a lot of leisure ideas and tourism highlights that will make your time in the Fulda region a unique experience.

Discover the musical summer, the star park Rhön, let yourself be seduced by sightseeing or go on a shopping tour in the old town of Fulda. Of course, there are many more reasons for your destination FD:

Central location

A quick vacation: Are you looking for relaxation, adventure, culture, good food and wellness for your eyes? You can be with us in a maximum of three hours. How about a paragliding flight or a climbing tour? Why not try snowkiting? If good food were an Olympic discipline, we would be sure of a place on the podium. The Fulda region is not only a scenic but also a culinary delight.

Culture

"Take me to Fulda," Boniface is said to have said to Sturmius on his deathbed. In 2004, his story also laid the foundation for today's musical stronghold. Fulda has many titles: baroque city, cathedral city, bishop city, university city, star city - but there is also culture to discover in the Fulda region. However, it is by no means only history that is being reappraised here - the numerous players in Fulda's creative industry are also looking ahead, sweeping us away with their aesthetic projects.

Nature

You must have discovered the Rhön: With its designation as a UNESCO biosphere reserve in 1991, an already existing unique cultural landscape was secured. You will find ecological jewels like primeval forests, a fossil block glacier, prehistoric animals, rare plants, four-legged landscape gardeners, an amazing biodiversity - and a radiant star park sky over the city and mountain panorama.

Pleasure

The people of Fulda are said to unpack their travel provisions as soon as the cathedral towers are out of sight. The way to our home is through our stomachs. Word of how delicious this tastes has even spread to Wiesbaden, where our members of the state parliament sold Rhön sausage and bread from the trunk of their car. With a clear conscience, by the way, because our passion for regional specialties is combined with the highest quality and sustainable management. Our restaurateurs are bursting with ideas and work in partnership to ensure that combining enjoyment and society is part of everyday life in Fulda.

Shopping

Discover the diverse shopping opportunities in the picturesque baroque town of Fulda. Whether exclusive boutique, small gift store or large fashion chain - Fulda offers a wide range of stores for every taste and budget. Many shopping streets also await you in the idyllic inner and old town, where we invite you to the weekly and farmers' market. Cozy cafes, bars and restaurants round off your relaxed shopping day.

Sightseeing

Admittedly, from the Wasserkuppe you have a fabulous view of three German states. Especially if you simply take off from Germany's highest airfield. If you're looking for a more down-to-earth sightseeing experience, we recommend a visit to Hünfeld, the home of computer pioneer Konrad Zuse, or a trip to the lively baroque town of Fulda, where prince abbots and regents have known how to enjoy life.

Events

Princely Garden Festival, Cathedral Square Concerts, Musical Summer, Gourmet Festival, Christmas Market, Winter Varieté - the calendar of events in the baroque city is well filled all year round. But we also celebrate festivals in rural areas. This begins with Shrovetide and the numerous Hutzel fires to drive away winter, continues through the summer, when we like to celebrate our history, and ends in the fall with many funfair celebrations that put any Oktoberfest in the shade.
